2, 3 & 5-Station Restroom Trailer Sizing: Which One Do You Need?
Choosing the right restroom trailer size is more important than most people realize. Book too small and you’ll have lines. Book too large and you’ve paid for capacity you don’t need. Here’s how to get it right.
The Quick Answer
| Trailer | Stations | Guest Range | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2-Station | 2 | Up to 100 | Small weddings, intimate parties |
| 3-Station | 3 | Up to 250 | Mid-size weddings, corporate events |
| 5-Station | 5 | Up to 400 | Large festivals, big receptions |
The 2-Station Trailer
Our 2-station trailer is the right choice for events with up to 100 guests when the event duration is 4 hours or less.
It features two individual stalls with full amenities — running water, climate control, interior lighting, and real flushing toilets. It’s compact enough to fit in tighter spaces, which makes it popular for backyard events and smaller venue lots.
Good fit: Intimate wedding ceremonies, birthday parties, small corporate picnics, family reunions under 100 people.
Not the right fit: Any event over 100 guests, or longer events where the restroom will see sustained high-use periods.
The 3-Station Trailer
The 3-station is our most popular trailer. It handles up to 250 guests comfortably and is the sweet spot for most Maryland weddings and corporate events.
Three stalls means shorter wait times at peak usage moments — dinner service, the cocktail hour transition, end-of-night rush. It also has a dedicated vanity area, which guests appreciate at weddings where people are dressed up and want a proper mirror.
Good fit: Most weddings, outdoor company events, festivals in the 100–250 guest range, outdoor ceremonies with receptions.
Not the right fit: Events over 250 guests, or events where you expect unusually high restroom traffic (e.g., 4-hour open bar with 200 people).
The 5-Station Trailer
For large events, the 5-station is the workhorse. It can handle up to 400 guests and is designed for sustained high-traffic use.
Five stalls means meaningful capacity during the rush periods that happen at every large event. It’s the right choice for festivals, large corporate functions, and community events where you expect consistent usage throughout the day.
Good fit: Festivals, large outdoor weddings 250+, community events, multi-day functions, outdoor concerts.
Not the right fit: Events under 150 guests (you’d be paying for excess capacity).
Other Factors That Affect Sizing
Guest count is the primary variable, but a few other things matter:
- Event duration — a 2-hour ceremony needs less capacity than a 6-hour reception
- Alcohol service — open bar events see 30–40% more restroom traffic
- Time of day — evening events with dinner typically spike restroom use more than daytime events
- Backup facilities — if the venue has some permanent restrooms, you may be able to go one size down
When in Doubt, Size Up
If you’re on the line between two sizes, go larger. The cost difference between a 2-station and 3-station is smaller than the stress of managing a line at your event.
